Review: Lordi- Recordead live in Z7 (2019)

LORDI released their new DVD "Recordead live in Z7" which is their first official DVD. Yes, they released some stuff before but this new DVD is the first one which was made under their control. It was also mixed by Mana, the drummer. You can buy the record in many versions, as a digipak DVD, Blu-Ray and also as the vinyls with the live music. All you can order at AFM official label store.
The DVD was recorde(a)d in 2018 during Sextourcism tour in well known club Z7 in Pratteln, Switzerland. They chose this place because they played there the most often on their tours. And because this gig was for DVD you get many special things which weren't done at "ordinary" gigs of the tour.
The setlist was longer than usually (comparing to concerts where I was). For example in Prague they played 14 songs and on DVD we can hear and watch 20 songs (without the member's solos and SCG9). "Heaven Sent Hell On Earth" was really cool to see live. Honestly they should play more from Demonarchy part of previous album. Or better, they should have a gig where they would play all the songs from it (just my wish). We can also hear "Rock The Hell Outta You" from Lordi's first album "Get Heavy". I always love to hear this old songs live. As I always love when they play some b-side songs. This time it was "Mr. Killjoy". I had a luck to hear it live on the gig in Pardubice. You know, for someone who saw Lordi many times (for me it's 26 times for now), those songs are the refreshments of the setlist. They always will play "Would You Love a Monsterman?", "Blood Red Sandman", "Devil Is a Loser", "Hard Rock Hallelujah" etc... and we love it but sometimes you want something special. From the latest album they played one more song- "Slashion Model Girls" but it's not my favourite from "Sexorcism"
It was also great that Ralf Ruiz, the (s)exorcist, appeared on the stage. First during "Sexorcism" intro and then during "SCG9: The Documented Phenomenom" when he performed the exorcism of the girl Anna. It was also nice seeing Lordi to use again flames and pyros. I understand it's question of money that they haven't it at all the shows and it's also about the space in the clubs. But imagine you're someone who don't know Lordi and you watch this DVD. Then you'll think all their concerts look like this one. But what wasn't that great when Lady Satana came on stage. I understand the meaning during "Naked In My Cellar". But for me this is only cheap way how to attract attention. What is the easiest way? Show them naked girl. You understand what I mean.
As a bonus you will find all band's released music videos with previously unreleased video for "Inferno" from 1995. This time Lordi was mostly only Mr. Lordi's project. So you can see only him (with censored face) in the video. Also "A Day In The Life Of Sextourcism" by crew member Jessycho is very interesting.
If you're Lordi fan you should definitely buy this DVD. You'll get well shot concert with good sound. So it was a bit weird and funny that many people in the crowd were using their phones to shoot the gig. A bit nonsense, don't you think? 😁
