It's Nonstop Nite: Lordi Scream Stream 22/5/2020

Those are really weird times. For many weeks we couldn't almost go outside and have a walk. So live concerts were stickly forbidden, of course. Many artists started to stream their gigs. LORDI wanted to do something special for their fans. Not only the concerts but also many specials things. I was very sad they cancelled Lordi show in Prague a week before it should happen. All this corona shit started to be really serious. And they also postponed Masters of Rock to next year. So it meant no Lordi for me this year. So I was really happy when Lordi announced this SCREAM STREAM and I bought a ticket without any more thinking. So how was it?

Lordi also asked fans to vote for their favourite songs before the stream. So we only waited which songs they picked. The fans voted for many rare and long-time-no-played songs. I voted for Get Heavy, Nonstop Nite, Man Skin Boots, Evilove and The Night of the Loving Dead and the band played 2 of them.

They started with "Get Heavy". It was funny to see the monsters just sitting on the chairs and playing the songs. Between the songs the moderator asked the band some questions. This was also part of the stream. There was a chat room and you could ask the band whatever you wanted. Then we could hear "Hulking Dynamo", first played since 2013. The beginning of the stream was full of technical problems. It was lagging all the time and maybe after 20 minutes the stream went just down. We had to wait 30 minutes the stream was online again. I have read it was the work of some hacker. The bad thing was noone noticed it at the venue and they were still playing. So we missed "Blood Red Sandman", "Evilove" and "Let's Go Slaughter He-Man". I was really sad especially for "Evilove" since it's one of my favourite songs ever.

After this terrible time that we couldn't log in again, we were back right before "Kalmageddon" was played. This was a first time I (and most of us) heard it live. After "Who's Your Daddy" we got another song which wasn't played for a long time. And it was "Shotgun Divorce" played last time in 2005. Then we heard "Beast Loose in Paradise", the song from "Dark Floors" movie. I love this song live. I think I don't need to write a lot about "Hard Rock Hallelujah", because after this song they played "The House", a cover song many fans were asking for. It's not an easy song to sing but Mr. Lordi killed it. The first song from the new album "Killection" was another live debut "Cutterfly". The fans also asked for this song and why Lordi didn't play him live during "Killectour".

After "The Riff" (also my favourite live song) they played "Hate at First Sight", last played in 2010. I remember when they played it live. I was there. Then we got "Supermonstars" (last played in 2013), "Not the Nicest Guy" and "Icon of Dominance". The second song from the new album was "Like a Bee to the Honey", with the sax solo of Michael Monroe. Well, I have to admit I don't like "Biomechanic Man" a lot, even it's Mr. Lordi's favourite song. The finale of the stream belonged to the band's hits "It Snows in Hell", "Devil Is a Loser", then we heard also "My Heaven Is Your Hell" and the last song was "Would You Love a Monsterman".

Besides the music we also saw another interesting things. Mr. Lordi introduced us Rovaniemi, his home town. We could see his favourite places and also places when Lordi started. Also many guest stars went to say hello, for example UDO, Michael Monroe, Bruce Kulick or Jean Beauvoir. And do not forget Santa Claus.

It was very special evening for all monstermaniacs. I think we all miss live concerts and many of us missed the concerts in March. And I want to thank LORDI for this. That we could be all in the first row and enjoy the concert together. And see you in 2021.... btw. Mr. Lordi said the new Lordi album could be released in 2021. Let's hope for this.
